Relocating to Pinellas? Start with the schools and the scholarship

Many families relocating to Pinellas don't realize Florida will fund private school for any K-12 child. Here is how to use this site while you pick a neighborhood.

Last verified: October 2026

When can a new Pinellas resident apply?

Residency comes first; after that, new 2026-27 applications for the Private School Scholarship and FES-UA are open through November 15, 2026.

Families arriving later should look at the 2027-28 cycle and, for mid-year moves, at the Quarter 4 transfer deadline of February 15, 2027.

How do I compare areas?

Our 12 community pages list every registered private school with grades, affiliation, accreditation and program flags.

St. Petersburg, Clearwater and mid-county Largo and Pinellas Park hold most of the schools; north county has a smaller, more suburban mix.

Does the scholarship pay for the commute?

No. Florida's scholarships do not cover transportation, so weigh the drive across the county before choosing a school far from home.
