Funding a homeschool or hybrid in Pinellas County

Under PEP, a Pinellas child learning at home or in a hybrid is funded at the county's private school rate, but the money lands in an account the parent spends.

Last verified: October 2026

What does PEP pay a Pinellas homeschool student?

The same as the Private School Scholarship: $8,643 for K-3, $8,059 for 4-8 and $7,868 for 9-12 in 2026-27.

It arrives in an account instead of going to a school, and the parent spends it on approved items.

When can we apply?

The regular 2026-27 window closed April 30, 2026; a limited late window runs to April 15, 2027 for some applicants without a funding guarantee.

Most families should plan around the 2027-28 cycle.

Where are the Pinellas hybrid options?

12 schools in the Pinellas file carry the PEP flag, including programs in Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Dunedin, St. Petersburg and Tarpon Springs.

Each is tagged in the directory and listed on our PEP hybrid page.

Can PEP buy a computer?

No. Computers are not an authorized PEP expense; among Florida's programs only FES-UA covers them.

PEP can still pay for curriculum, software subscriptions, tutoring, testing and hybrid tuition.
